Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani, former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, has purchased Villa Certosa, the Sardinian estate of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, for 350 million euros, according to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. The sale took place about a year after the Berlusconi family put the property on the market. The transaction was made through an investment company in Luxembourg, linked to the Al Thani family, which has ruled Qatar for over 150 years. The villa, known for the 'bunga bunga' parties organized by Berlusconi, has been used as a summer residence and has hosted personalities such as Vladimir Putin and Tony Blair. The sale is part of the efforts of Berlusconi's five children to reorganize the real estate portfolio left by him after his death in 2023.
