An unidentified man took several employees hostage in a Procter & Gamble factory in Turkey, carrying an explosive device and a gun.

The man entered the factory in Kocaeli province wearing a Palestinian scarf. He took 7 hostages and the trade union has asked the factory owner to be responsible for their safety. Turkish and Palestinian flags were drawn on a wall in the factory. The man said the gates would be opened, adding the message "Either rest in the coffin or death for Gaza".
