The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, requested the Government to urgently adopt measures to reduce the impact of rising fuel prices, emphasizing that Romanians should benefit from the same price reduction schemes as other Europeans.

Grindeanu mentioned that discussions took place within the Government, but no concrete decision was made. The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, explained that a real decrease in prices can be achieved by reducing VAT or lowering the excise duty. Ivan added that the Romanian state has additional revenues from rising prices and that these funds should return to the citizens' pockets. Grindeanu expressed hope that, following the discussions, the Government will make a swift decision in this regard.
