The Greenlandic government will participate in the meeting between American Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Danish officials to clarify tensions related to the future of the island.

Vivian Motzfeldt, head of the Greenlandic diplomacy, emphasized that the island must be included in discussions, stating that "nothing about Greenland without Greenland." This meeting comes after repeated comments from President Donald Trump, who expressed interest in buying Greenland. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen challenged Trump's claims about the neglect of the island's security by Copenhagen, mentioning recent investments in Arctic security. Motzfeldt stated that the meeting could normalize relations with the United States, highlighting the interdependence between Greenland and the U.S. in the field of security in the Arctic.
