Google and Walt Disney have announced that they have reached an agreement to restore Disney channels on YouTube TV, after a conflict that left millions of subscribers without access to important programs. All Disney channels, including ABC and ESPN, will return to the platform starting Friday.
YouTube has confirmed that ESPN programs will be available at no additional cost until 2026. The dispute centered on retransmission fees, with Disney seeking rates comparable to those of other distributors. Disney CEO Bob Iger mentioned that the agreement offered is similar to those accepted by other major distributors. This situation has raised concerns among investors, given the decline of Disney's traditional television business.
