Disney has signed a wide-ranging licensing agreement with Netflix, under which several of the company’s films and series will be available temporarily on the platform, globally or in certain regions. The move aims to attract a larger audience, generate additional revenue and promote upcoming releases.
All five films in the Ice Age franchise will be available to watch on Netflix starting October 4, for three months. The agreement comes ahead of the theatrical release of the franchise’s sixth film, Ice Age: Boiling Point, scheduled for early next year.
Also starting October 4, Netflix will stream the first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, ahead of the third season’s debut on Disney+ on November 20, 2026.
The lineup also includes the series Will Trent, Tracker and Shifting Gears, as well as older productions such as Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives, Fresh Off the Boat and This Is Us. Starting in 2027, Netflix will also receive Disney and Pixar films, including Soul, Elio and Raya and the Last Dragon.
The productions will remain available on Disney+ and Hulu as well. For Netflix, the agreement expands its catalog with well-known titles, while Disney retains exclusivity on its own platforms and increases its visibility ahead of major releases.
