The data published by Destatis shows a decrease of 0.6% in Germany's exports in July, despite expectations of growth. Exports to the USA fell significantly by 7.9% due to tariffs imposed by Washington. In contrast, exports to EU countries increased by 2.5%. Imports decreased by 0.1%, resulting in a trade surplus of 14.7 billion euros. Additionally, industrial production increased by 1.3%, suggesting a possible stabilization of the economy. Germany remains an essential trading partner for Romania and other EU states.
