Romanians living in Germany may face difficulties accessing integration courses, amid cost-cutting measures prepared by the federal government. According to the publication Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, authorities are considering limiting enrollments and lowering the required level of German language at the end of the courses, from B1 to A2. These measures could affect the employment chances of migrants and their integration into society. Among the proposals discussed is also digital self-education without teachers, reducing literacy hours, and modifying the 'Life in Germany' test. Critics highlight the contradiction between the need for labor and the reduction of integration programs, warning that these measures may have negative effects on migrants. The government justifies the cuts by budget constraints, but for many Romanians, integration courses are essential for a stable life in Germany.
