Germany has announced that it has completely exhausted its stockpiles of air defense missiles intended for Ukraine, according to statements by Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. Berlin has been a major supporter of Ukraine, financing the purchase of Patriot interceptors from the U.S., but can no longer provide missiles from its own arsenals.

Wadephul emphasized that everything coming off the production lines is directed towards Ukraine, as part of a European financial support mechanism. He called on other European countries to review their stockpiles and to ramp up air defense deliveries, in the context of which Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed concerns about the lack of interceptor missiles. NATO confirmed that there have been no delays in the delivery of Patriot missiles and that other partners will compensate for the supply shortfall.
