The French journalist was expelled from 'Ben Gurion' International Airport in Tel Aviv on Thursday morning, after Israeli authorities denied her entry into the country. The expulsion was announced by Amichai Chikli, the Israeli Minister for Diaspora, who stated that the journalist wanted to work long-term in Israel. The ministry accused her of supporting the militant group Hamas, an accusation frequently used by Israel to counter criticism related to the war in Gaza. Although the journalist had the necessary travel authorization and had applied for a press visa, Israeli authorities did not provide any justification for the expulsion decision. RFI, the station she worked for, condemned this action as an obstruction of press freedom. In recent months, Israel has denied entry or expelled several foreign journalists and activists amid criticism of the war in Gaza. At the same time, Israeli military attacks in the West Bank continue, severely affecting the living conditions of Palestinians.
