On Thursday morning, French farmers drove their tractors into the center of Paris, reaching as far as the Eiffel Tower, to express their demands. The protest, organized by the Coordination Rurale union, was motivated by grievances related to the free trade agreement between the European Union and the Mercosur countries, as well as the management of the bovine nodular dermatitis outbreak by the government. Farmers are calling for the simplification of administrative procedures and the relaxation of European regulations, which they consider restrictive and a source of unfair competition. Although a police prefecture order prohibited tractors from entering certain sensitive areas of the capital, the protesters, led by union leaders, emphasized that they will continue to make their demands heard, even in the face of the risks of being stopped by the police.
