<p>The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced that France will contribute €10 million to repair the Chernobyl sarcophagus, damaged by a drone attack in February 2025. The funds will help restore the essential functions of the structure, inaugurated in 2019 by the Novarka consortium. The EBRD will assess the damage and work will aim to prevent water seepage and minimize the release of contaminated dust.
