The National Institute of Public Health reported four cases of West Nile virus infection, three of them confirmed, in Bucharest, Vrancea, Sălaj and Dolj, between June 2 and August 7, 2025. The cases affect people of different age groups, most of them men. Experts recommend preventive measures, such as wearing protective clothing, using repellents and draining areas with standing water.
