The FEVS highlighted the severe impact of the 15% US tariffs on EU wines and spirits, estimating a 25% reduction in sales, which could lead to losses of €1 billion and 600,000 jobs in the French industry. Officials called for further negotiations between France and the EU to find solutions and exemptions. The duties are also expected to reduce champagne consumption in the US.
