A translator employed by the European Union has been sacked after he was involved in a security incident linked to taking notes at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. Under the commission's code of conduct, notes are banned in sensitive sessions to prevent spying. The commission immediately confiscated the notes and decided to stop using the services of the translator, a French-Ukrainian freelancer. The move comes amid growing fears of foreign spying in Brussels.
