The European Commission has announced a proposal to exempt zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles from road tolls until 2031, extending the initial derogation from 2025. The measure is intended to encourage investment in green vehicles, which are more expensive than conventional ones, and support the transition to a low-emissions economy. Transport commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas underlined the importance of this initiative for the EU's climate goals.
