Ministries from 12 European countries, led by the Netherlands, have called for a revision of the 2014 Tobacco Products Directive, which does not cover new nicotine products. They are concerned about the increasing use of e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches by young people and are calling for stricter regulations, including restrictions on flavors and nicotine levels. Ministers highlight the health risks, given that 1 in 7 young people vape monthly.
