The European Union will abolish roaming charges for Moldovan citizens, under a decision adopted by the Council of the EU, allowing Moldovans and EU citizens in Moldova to make calls, send messages and use mobile data at no extra cost. The decision, which will enter into force on January 1, 2026, supports Moldova's economic integration into the EU internal market, in line with the objectives of the 2016 association agreement.
