Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, declared on Wednesday that it is essential to put an end to the war in the Middle East to prevent an escalation that could affect the entire region. In a speech addressed to his parliamentary group, he emphasized that if there is a chance for diplomacy, it is crucial to continue efforts to bring the parties back to the negotiating table. Erdogan warned that the continuation of the conflict will lead to increasing human and material losses and will affect the global economy.
He also emphasized that the peoples of the region should not allow a conflict of which they are already victims to cause even more suffering. In a separate note, he warned Iran against provocative actions, referring to the interception of missiles fired from Iran in Turkish airspace, stressing that such actions endanger the friendly relations between the two countries.
