The operation was part of the rapid alert procedure, known as Quick Reaction Alert (QRA), used in cases of suspected airspace violations. Authorities warned that, during these missions, aircraft may exceed the sound barrier, generating a sonic boom. Details about the type or origin of the aircraft were not provided, and a spokesperson mentioned that it could be a drone or an unknown passenger plane. The incident comes two weeks after drones were observed above the same base, without being intercepted.
