Duane 'Keffe D' Davis's trial, former leader of the South Side Compton Crips gang, accused of orchestrating the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur, begins Monday in Las Vegas, 30 years after the artist's death. The prosecution hopes to prove that Davis ordered the assassination and provided the murder weapon.

The feud between Death Row Records and Bad Boy Records, involved in the rivalry between West Coast and East Coast rappers, will be a central topic of the trial. After a violent incident in which Tupac and Suge Knight assaulted Davis's nephew, he allegedly organized the retaliation.

Although Davis has acknowledged that he was in the vehicle from which the shots were fired, he denies the charges and claims there is no evidence against him. The trial will last four weeks, and his lawyers are trying to prevent the use of his memoirs as evidence. Regardless of the verdict, Tupac's family continues to seek answers regarding the unsolved crimes.
