The Ilsky refinery in the Krasnodar region of Russia was affected by a drone attack that caused a significant fire. A tank containing petroleum products was hit, and the flames spread over an area of approximately 700 square meters. At the scene, 72 firefighters and 21 fire trucks were mobilized, including a firefighting intervention train, to limit the spread of the fire.
Images captured by locals show large columns of fire and a thick cloud of black smoke above the refinery. Ilsky is one of the largest private refineries in the Southern Federal District, producing diesel, gasoline, fuel oil, and bitumen for the domestic market and export. The incident follows a similar attack on the refinery in Volgograd, highlighting the significant impact on Russian energy infrastructure.
