Donald Trump has announced that he is seeking 1 billion dollars in damages from Harvard University, following articles in the New York Times suggesting that his administration had dropped its claim for compensation. Trump accuses the university of antisemitism and bias, stating that he no longer wishes to collaborate with it. The conflict began when Harvard sued the Trump administration, accusing it of illegal cuts to research funding and an unfounded political campaign. Although an agreement was nearly reached that would have required Harvard to pay 500 million dollars to regain access to federal funding, the dispute escalated, resulting in cuts of 2.6 billion dollars to research funding and other restrictive measures.
