Vegetation fires in Antalya, Turkey, evacuate locals and threaten tourists. The government has declared disaster areas.

The region of Antalya in southern Turkey is facing heavy vegetation fires, threatening homes and Romanian tourists. Firefighters, aided by helicopters, are battling to control the blaze and evacuations have been ordered in the affected areas. The government has declared Izmir and Bilecik provinces as disaster areas, mobilizing more than 12,000 workers to fight the fires. Images from the area show the fire closing in on apartment blocks as locals join fire-fighting efforts.
