The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported a deadly attack on a patrol clearing explosive munitions in the village of Ghanduriyah, resulting in the death of a French soldier and the injury of three others. UNIFIL condemned the attack, describing it as being carried out by "non-state actors," a term used to refer to Hezbollah, a terrorist group supported by Iran. French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that the attack was carried out by Hezbollah and expressed condolences. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun promised to prosecute those responsible.
