Dan Driscoll, the head of the American Army, was excluded from the peace negotiations for Ukraine by Pete Hegseth, who has become increasingly "paranoid," according to sources cited by The Telegraph. Driscoll, a former soldier with rising popularity in the Trump administration, was considered too active in his role, which led to the decision to exclude him from discussions. Although he was involved in important negotiations, including presenting a peace plan to Volodymyr Zelensky, the meeting was unsuccessful, and the Ukrainian president rejected the proposal.

Driscoll's absence from future meetings has sparked speculation about a broader struggle for control of the negotiations. Despite the controversies, the deputy White House press secretary stated that Hegseth is valued by Trump for his work at the Pentagon.
