<p>Cypriot Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides said he was aware of opposition from Turkey, which has opposed Cyprus's entry into NATO as long as the island remains divided. Turkey considers Cyprus' intention "unacceptable" and has warned it would upset the fragile balance in Cyprus. Cyprus plans to expand its military cooperation with the US by offering it an air base.
