On the 78th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, survivors emphasize the importance of preserving the memory of the damage and their stories. Their numbers have dwindled significantly to 99,130. In memory of the victims, a moment of silence was held on Saturday at the exact time of the attack, 11:02am, marking the devastating impact of the war on Japan.
