On Tuesday, a wooden footbridge collapsed on a beach in Santander, Spain, resulting in the death of five people and one missing person. Local authorities confirmed the incident, and Mayor Gema Igual described the tragedy as devastating, mentioning that the victims were part of a group of seven young people who were enjoying nature. Following the collapse, search teams continue to work to find the missing person, and another victim has been hospitalized for hypothermia. The national maritime rescue service has already recovered four of the deceased bodies. The rescue operation involves maritime and aerial units, police, and firefighters.
