A civil plane crashed on Sunday in a suburb of the city of Nancy, in eastern France, resulting in 11 fatalities. The local prefecture confirmed that the aviation incident occurred in the locality of Tomblaine, and an investigation was immediately opened by the authorities to determine the exact causes of the crash.
According to the local publication L'Est Republicain, the aircraft was transporting a group of people for a skydiving initiation session. The prefect of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, Yves Seguy, specified in a press conference that the victims are the ten passengers on board and the pilot of the aircraft. Significant emergency response forces were mobilized to the scene of the tragedy, and the arrival of the Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez, was also announced.
