China has announced the expansion of the visa-free travel program for citizens from 48 countries, including Romania, who can enter the country for a period of up to 30 days without needing a visa. The measure, valid until December 31, 2026, was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning. This also includes Sweden, which will benefit from the same condition starting from November 10, 2025.

The purpose of this expansion is to stimulate tourism and international exchanges, especially after the pandemic restrictions. The program facilitates travel from Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and New Zealand, promoting economic and cultural cooperation. However, individuals who do not meet the program's conditions must obtain a visa to enter China. This decision reflects China's commitment to strengthen its diplomatic and economic relations with various states.
