Bruno Retailleau, former Minister of the Interior and candidate for the presidential elections in 2027 in France, announced that he will submit several major legislative projects to referendums, including drastically reducing immigration. In a speech broadcast on social media, he emphasized that we must not govern against the people and promised to impose the authority of the Republic.

Retailleau stated that he wants to be president out of a sense of duty, not out of an obsession for power, and described France as being in a state of decline. Among his priorities is a public consultation for reducing immigration, which he considers a major problem, and reforming the justice system. Although these proposals could conflict with the Constitution, he intends to rebuild the social model of France, emphasizing work and fiscal responsibility. Retailleau also promised to reorient environmental protection and reform education to combat inequalities. His candidacy was announced before knowing the proposals of the working group for the nomination of the LR candidate, expected at the end of February.
