"Birds' Hill", a former Soviet property under the control of the Russian presidential administration (FSO), is the residence for prominent figures such as Roman Abramovich, Valery Gerasimov, and Sergei Shoigu. They enjoy sumptuous palaces and an extravagant lifestyle, similar to that of the imperial court, with strict security.

Oligarchs and generals, such as Suleiman Kerimov and Gennady Timchenko, pay approximately 3.1 million rubles (33,000 euros) monthly for these residences, which have been converted from palaces built in the 1950s for Communist Party officials into private homes for Putin's associates.

This situation highlights the paradox between the egalitarian rhetoric of the Soviet Union and the opulence of the contemporary Russian elite. In the context of the conflict in Ukraine and economic sanctions, "Birds' Hill" becomes a symbol of the discrepancy between the suffering of the population and the privileges of the Kremlin elite, reflecting the absolute power and political favoritism in today's Russia.
