The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Bashar al-Assad was hospitalized in a Moscow hospital, being suspected of an attempted poisoning. Discharged on Monday morning, his health condition is stable. Assad fled Syria on December 8, after an offensive by rebels, and it is believed that he has settled in Russia. He has also been placed on an international wanted list by the new Islamist regime in Syria. Information about his poisoning has been picked up by several Russian sources, but not by state agencies.
