The American strategic bomber B-52H Stratofortress conducted a training flight over Finland, practicing striking targets at the Sotipuro range, near the border with Russia. After this exercise, the B-52H entered the airspace of Estonia, coming within approximately 50 km of the Russian border. During the flight, the aircraft was protected by F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets from Finland and Eurofighter Typhoon from the United Kingdom. Additionally, a NATO E-3A Sentry aircraft monitored operations over Estonia.
The U.S. Air Force Command announced the arrival of three B-52H bombers at Morón Air Base in Spain for multilateral exercises with Finland, Lithuania, Sweden, and other allies. These exercises are intended to enhance rapid response and maintain a deterrent capability on NATO's eastern flank. Furthermore, the U.S. has deployed P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft in Norway, which have conducted flights over the Baltic Sea, supporting allied operations in the region.
