The observation of an Azerbaijani MiG-29 in Ukraine raises questions about how it got there, considering that no official transfer has been announced. Three Azerbaijani MiG-29 aircraft were under maintenance in Ukraine before the Russian invasion in 2022, and speculation suggests that at least one of them survived the attacks. This situation coincides with the deterioration of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, which could explain the decision to allow the use of these aircraft by Ukraine, thus providing a modest but significant boost to the Ukrainian Air Force.
