Australian federal authorities have charged a 19-year-old man, suspected of making online threats against a foreign head of state, in the context of Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit. According to the Australian Federal Police, the teenager allegedly posted threatening messages on a social media platform, targeting an internationally protected person. Although the name of the individual has not been officially confirmed, the Australian press suggests that the threats were directed at Herzog. The offense is serious, with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The young man has not been released on bail and will appear in court. Additionally, investigators have confiscated equipment related to drug use. Herzog's visit to Australia coincides with pro-Palestinian protests, and police have extended restrictions on demonstrations in certain areas of Sydney. Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles assured that the Israeli president will receive standard security measures.
