The incident led to the temporary suspension of air traffic at Vilnius airport, where suspicious balloons were observed. It is suspected that these were used by smugglers to illegally transport goods from Belarus. Authorities recovered 10 balloons and continue investigations to identify the rest and the individuals involved. Border guards mentioned that the balloons had drifted further into the country due to favorable winds.
