Apple has signed a $700 million deal to broadcast Formula 1 races in the U.S., starting in 2026, replacing ESPN. The five-year partnership, announced ahead of the U.S. Grand Prix, will significantly increase the value of the contract, from $85 million previously paid by ESPN to approximately $140 million annually. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali emphasized that Apple will help increase the sport's popularity among young people in the U.S. The deal comes after the success of the F1 film with Brad Pitt, which demonstrated Apple's ability to attract new audiences. Apple will broadcast all aspects of the competition, including practices and qualifying, and will integrate various company services into the viewing experience. This move aligns with Apple's strategy to compete with other major tech companies in the live sports arena.
