During a visit to Athens, Merkel discussed Trump's imposition of tariffs and emphasized the importance of European unity. She also reflected on the crisis in Greece, recalling her surprising conversation with former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and highlighted the pressure felt during negotiations. Merkel said she could not imagine Europe without Greece.
