Andrew Tate, an influencer arrested in Romania on rape and human trafficking charges, obtained a 'golden passport' from Vanuatu through a citizenship by investment program in December 2022. This passport gives him visa-free access to 126 countries, including the UK and the Schengen zone. In January 2023, the passport was issued while Tate was on remand. The Tate brothers are under criminal investigation in Romania and are due to be extradited to the UK, where additional charges have been laid.
