The United States has captured a Russian oil tanker in the North Atlantic, as part of the blockade against oil tankers linked to Venezuela.

The American military has taken control of a Russian-flagged tanker named 'Marinera' in the North Atlantic as part of an operation to block tankers linked to Venezuela. The capture occurred after Russia sent a military ship to protect the tanker, and Russian media published images of a military helicopter above it.

The tanker, previously known as 'Bella 1', had been under U.S. sanctions since 2024 for ties to Iran and Hezbollah. Additionally, another tanker, 'Sophia', was captured in the Caribbean Sea. The United Kingdom provided military support in the capture operation, and Russia condemned the action as a violation of international navigation norms.
