According to CBS News, American military planners have discussed possible actions against Cuba, including an air assault carried out by the 101st Airborne Division.
Although these discussions do not indicate a firm decision from President Trump or the Pentagon, officials acknowledge that a military action would face challenges, considering the current U.S. commitments in the Middle East. Secretary of State Marco Rubio continues to advocate for a diplomatic transition in Cuba, but this effort has encountered obstacles.
Additionally, the State Department has expanded sanctions against Cuban entities that support the regime. Although the Pentagon has organized a briefing to assess military options, limited resources and the conflict in Iran complicate any imminent action.
Internal tensions between Trump and military officials, such as Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, have also been reported, in the context of dissatisfaction with the management of military operations. The White House press secretary dismissed speculation about the president's frustrations, highlighting the recent success of operations against Iran.
