U.S. senators have reached an agreement that could end the budget paralysis that has lasted for 40 days, affecting essential public services. The provisional agreement allows for government funding until January and must also be approved by the House of Representatives before being sent for President Donald Trump's signature. During the paralysis, hundreds of thousands of federal employees worked without pay, and social aid payments and air traffic were disrupted. The agreement includes refinancing the food aid program for 42 million Americans and protecting federal employees from wrongful termination. Senator Tim Kaine emphasized that the proposal will reinstate wrongfully terminated employees and ensure retroactive pay. However, Chuck Schumer expressed dissatisfaction that the extension of health aid will require a vote, not a direct extension.
