Katherine Chappell, 29 years old, was killed by a lion during a safari vacation near Johannesburg, South Africa. The incident occurred when the young woman rolled down the window to photograph a lion, and the animal jumped through the open window and attacked her. Witness Ben Govender described the attack, mentioning that the guide tried to intervene but was unable to save Katherine, who suffered fatal injuries.
Lion Park, where the incident took place, stated that tourists receive clear instructions to keep windows closed, and an investigation is currently underway. Experts warn that lions in parks can lose their natural fear of humans, which can lead to dangerous situations.
