Peru: A powerful earthquake hits Lima, killing one person and injuring 36, along with landslides and damage to hospitals and schools

<p>The 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck at around 11:35am local time on Sunday, affecting Lima and the surrounding area. A 36-year-old man died when a wall collapsed on his car and 36 people were injured and hospitalized. President Dina Boluarte called for calm, saying a tsunami warning had not been issued. Landslides and damage to infrastructure, including hospitals and schools, were reported, and metro service was temporarily suspended.
