INSCOP Research has conducted a "Voting Day Survey" across Romania (without Diaspora) as part of an internal project to test and validate this research tool. After counting the votes cast in the country in the May 4th Presidential elections, INSCOP's nationwide polling on Romanian polling day provided the most accurate estimate of voting preferences in the last decade.

In INSCOP's sociological estimate, George Simion (AUR) was quoted with 36.2% and obtained 38.1% of the vote in the country. Crin Antonescu (PSD, PNL, UDMR) was quoted with 21.5% and obtained 21.2%. Nicușor Dan (independent) was quoted with 20.6% and obtained 20.2%. Victor Ponta was rated 17.1% and got 14.2%. Elena Lasconi (USR) polled 2.7% (vs. 2.5% in the INSCOP estimate), Lavinia Șandru - 0.7% (PUSL) (vs. 1.0% in the INSCOP estimate), Daniel Funeriu (independent) - 0.5% (vs. 0.4% in the INSCOP estimate, Sebastian Popescu (PNR) - 0,3% (compared to 0,2% in the INSCOP estimate), John Ion Banu Muscel (independent) - 0,2% (compared to 0,2% in the INSCOP estimate), Cristian Terheș (PNCR) - 0,4% (compared to 0,2% in the INSCOP estimate), Silviu Predoiu (PLAN) -0,2% (compared to 0,1% in the INSCOP estimate).

Data were collected through telephone interviews, on a sample of 4,490 respondents, of which 2,455 respondents cast votes. The maximum margin of error is 2%.
