The study at University College London will involve over 1,000 patients from 20 memory clinics, using a blood test that measures the biomarker p-tau217, associated with amyloid and tau proteins. It is estimated that the test will increase diagnostic accuracy from 70% to over 90%. Although traditional methods are costly and rare, this test could become standard, facilitating early diagnosis and access to treatments. The results will be evaluated based on their impact on the diagnostic process.
