Union Save Romania (USR) is challenging the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) to ban the party from campaigning for Nicușor Dan, after withdrawing support for Elena Lasconi. USR accuses a political censorship disguised under bureaucratic arguments, claiming that the BEC does not have the authority to decide a party's electoral strategy. Although the BEC claims that supporting Dan would create confusion over the candidates, USR considers it an aberrant decision that limits freedom of expression. USR members will continue to support Dan individually, while Lasconi announces legal action against the party.
