The University of Bucharest will host on April 24 the signing of a Declaration by the presidential candidates pledging to preserve democratic values and Romania's Euro-Atlantic orientation. Nicușor Dan, Victor Ponta and George Simion are among the signatories, while Crin Antonescu will not participate. The declaration, launched on April 16, covers commitments such as respecting the spirit of the 1989 Revolution, defending the rule of law, supporting university autonomy and guaranteeing freedom of expression. The signing will take place between 10:00 and 16:00, in the presence of Rector Marian Preda.
